Don't you think that people working in the F&B lines are heroes?

I'm myself working in an F&B line. Though I deal more on the beverages part. I'm not trying to say I'm a heroine myself, but I'm trying to understand people who are willing to contribute themselves to this line for years and years.

F&B people work almost 365 days. Even though we are eligible for Annual Leave (AL) for 10-14/15 days, but we mostly try to contribute more time on job then at home (except our off days). But on public holidays (PH). When all the OL and OM goes on to enjoy these days, F&B people still goes on to serve on these days, AND they are not getting additional off-in-lieu (OIL) for that. BUT these OL and OM are getting their PH leaves on top of going on enjoying the PH itself.

SEE THE DIFFERENCES?!

But F&B people, we don't complain. Because we feel that it's worth it seeing all you smiling on your enjoyable PH when we're serving you. But on some failure of giving you for what you want as 'best service', complain letters are being 'shoot- up' all the way to our superior, that's when our arse is on fire. Though we may feel very unhappy about the complaints, we still take it positively, for the fact that we still have to serve other customers on the day.

Some of you may think, "then don't work in F&B line, if you've so much to say".

But the thing is, if we, F&B people don't choose to work this line, are you gonna take over? Or would you prefer that there isn't any F&B outlet in Singapore at all? I'm sure there has to be, since Singaporean are number 1 in eating and drinking (as a form of enjoyment).

So, what have you gonna say?

UPDATES!!

Been half a year since I join my current company, everything is great. There may be ups and downs, but I'm learning to take it positively.

Boyfriend is going to serve the country soon soon, VERY VERY SOON! =(
And for those you who have been reading my FB, just to assure you that I'm back with boyfriend, and we are learning and trying to build- up what we've failed. We'll be the best couple. And I finally realise how much I love him!

To round off, I'm trying my best to be what I feel is right. Give me some time, I'll change to be a happier & more positive person.
